ORDERING FAQs

Is there anything special needed to access MunchaLunch?

Munch is a web-based program so all you need is a modern browser and access to the internet!

How does a family place an order?

Each family creates a MunchaLunch family account by clicking the MunchaLunch Registration link (provided by the school), enters their email address and a personal password, adds children to their account, and then places their order.

How can a parent place an order if they don’t have internet access?

Orders can be placed using a desktop, laptop, iPad or cell phone. If a parent does not have any of these devices, perhaps they can borrow a friend’s computer for 5 minutes to place their order. Alternatively, the parent could be provided with a hard copy order form (a document which can be downloaded by the Lunch Admin) and the Lunch Admin would then create the parent account on the parent’s behalf and enter the order into MunchaLunch.

How do parents order for more than one child?

Easy. Once they have created the order for their first child they simply select “choose another child” and Munch will take them back to the beginning of the order system so that they can create their order for the additional child.

How do parents get a copy of their order?

The MunchaLunch system sends an automated email which includes a copy of the order. Parents can also login to their account anytime and download/save their order (and/or print a hard copy of their order).

How do parents keep track of what they ordered for their kids?

How can parents be assured that their child will receive the correct order?

Munch generates Class Distribution reports which include each child’s name and specific order. These lists will accompany the complete food order that gets delivered to the classrooms and will be used to distribute the food.

PAYMENT FAQs

Can orders only be paid by credit card?

MunchaLunch works with Stripe (as the credit card payment processor) and the large majority of parents will pay online using their credit card or debit-credit card. It’s fast, easy, and secure. However, it’s possible for you to also offer the cheque or cash payment option to parents and then enter those payments in the system (to credit the parent account).

How long does it take to do an online payment?

It’s quick and easy – 30 seconds at most!

Are payments made separately or by lump-sum?

Orders are placed separately for each child but the ‘payment due’ is presented as a lump-sum.

Does MunchaLunch sell food?

No, MunchaLunch does not sell food. The system allows school lunch and fundraising coordinators to set up their program online and allows families to place orders online. Coordinators can select any preferred local food vendors and other suppliers and enter those suppliers in the system.

Is there any limit on the number of vendors, lunch items and menus that can be entered in the MunchaLunch system?

No, there is no limit – it is completely up to the Lunch Coordinator. Munch can handle as much as you would like to enter.

What if a parent forgets their password

They can easily retrieve their password by clicking ‘forgot password’ on the MunchaLunch Login page. It will be sent to the family account email address in seconds.

Is information stored in MunchaLunch secure?

Yes. MunchaLunch uses fully encrypted secured internet protocols (TLS/SSL) which is the same technology used by large corporations and banks. The data is housed in a secured datacenter and information is never shared with any third party.

What kind of support do you provide?

We are known for the outstanding support we provide to school Lunch Coordinators and Fundraising Admins. The MunchaLunch support team is available by email, day and evening, 7 days a week.

My experience with the MunchaLunch team has been nothing short of outstanding. I have run hot lunch programs for both elementary and high school for the past eight years and I cannot imagine doing it without the support of MunchaLunch. Not only is their website user friendly for both parents and administrators, they are constantly adding updates and features based on feedback from administrators like myself.

MunchaLunch has been our go-to not only for our hot lunch programs but for fundraising, ticket sales, event management and everything in between. Their on demand reporting is flawless. On the rare occasion that I’m not able to pull a report that I need, the support team jumps in and extracts the data for me. Access to such detailed reports make our volunteer jobs SO much easier on the ground.

But what makes MunchaLunch a truly fantastic program is the people. Their support team is like nothing I’ve ever experienced in customer service. They are prompt, friendly and ALWAYS have an answer. I have come to them with both mistakes that I’ve made (!) but also more complicated issues and they solve everything. I cannot overstate their commitment to customer service. I wonder if they ever sleep!

My son graduates in 2024 and I feel sad that I’ll no longer be working with the MunchaLunch team. They have provided so much support to me over the years. I have and will continue to highly recommend them.
